HRH The Princess Royal, serving as the President of the UK Fashion and Textile Association, visited Advanced Clothing Solutions (ACS), Europe’s largest circular and sustainable fashion hub, situated in Eurocentral, Scotland.
Her Royal Highness embarked on an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of ACS, a company with a mission to redefine the fashion industry’s sustainability standards. Founded in 1997, ACS stands as a beacon in circular fashion, fostering collaboration with brands and retailers to embrace rental, subscription, and resale models, ultimately reducing waste and maximizing the value of existing inventory.
A Hub for Sustainable Fashion
ACS operates from a state-of-the-art 200,000 sq. ft facility, managing over three million clothing items and processing more than six million units annually. From eco-friendly cleaning to brand authentication, garment repair, photography, branded packaging, and delivery, ACS oversees the entire returns and resale process, earning recognition as a B Corp accredited business and a recent recipient of the Kings Award for Enterprise.
The company’s impact also extends globally through collaborations with renowned fashion brands and retailers. Partnerships with The North Face, Pangaia, Nudie Jeans, Moss, LK Bennett, CaaStle, Zoa, HEWI, and Reflaunt exemplify ACS’s commitment to reshaping the sustainable fashion landscape.
Andrew Rough, CEO of ACS, expressed pride in hosting The Princess Royal, highlighting, “Our environmental commitment, skilled workforce, and community engagement have been central to our mission over the last 25 years. We aim not only to transform the fashion industry in the UK but to contribute to global sustainability.”
Anthony Burns, COO of ACS, echoed this sentiment, stating, “Focusing on people and the planet is fundamental to building a circular future for the fashion industry. Everyone at ACS is thrilled to share our innovative approach with Her Royal Highness, our partners, the local community, and beyond.”
HRH The Princess Royal’s visit to ACS signifies royal recognition for the company’s leadership in sustainable fashion. As ACS continues to pave the way for circular fashion, the visit aligns with a broader commitment to drive positive change within the fashion industry, both nationally and internationally.
