EUK Education, a new brand from EngineeringUK, has launched to provide extensive support to teachers and career leaders, helping inspire young people to pursue careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).
This initiative brings together various programmes and free resources previously offered by EngineeringUK, now accessible in one place through the new EUK website.
EUK Education aims to be a comprehensive resource hub, offering valuable tools and insights for educators and career leaders striving to spark interest in STEM fields among students. Eleanor Eyre, Head of Careers at EUK Education, emphasised the role of educators in this mission, stating, “Teachers and career leaders are at the heart of everything we do. We want to support you in the vital STEM work you do.” Eyre expressed hope that having all resources, such as the Climate Schools Programme, Energy Quest, and various career and STEM materials in one location, will assist educators in guiding young people toward rewarding careers in STEM.
Collaboration with the STEM Teaching Community
EUK Education closely collaborates with the STEM teaching and careers community, facilitated through its Teacher Network, which includes both primary and secondary school educators. The Network has been integral in shaping classroom resources, designing bursary programmes, and enhancing partnerships between schools and industry.
This collaborative approach ensures that EUK’s resources are tailored to meet the real-world challenges faced by teachers and career leaders. EUK Education offers a wide array of tools aimed at improving STEM engagement, from practical teaching materials to outreach opportunities.
A Comprehensive STEM Support System
The launch of EUK Education brings with it a variety of resources designed to support educators in delivering engaging STEM lessons and career guidance. The platform provides up-to-date information about engineering and technology careers, including insights into the skills sought by employers. Additionally, teachers can access free programmes to make STEM subjects more accessible and relevant to students, with lesson plans designed to link curriculum content to real-world job applications.
EUK Education also helps students connect with inspiring role models working in STEM professions, offering a glimpse into the diverse and innovative careers available. Through events, outreach programmes, and career resources, students can gain a deeper understanding of what a future in STEM might look like, helping them make informed decisions about their career paths.
Tomorrow’s Engineers Week
One of the key events hosted by EUK Education is the annual Tomorrow’s Engineers Week, set to take place from 11 to 15 November. This year’s theme, “Power up your passion,” is focused on demonstrating the creative, problem-solving, and innovative aspects of engineering. The week-long celebration showcases the diversity of STEM careers beyond traditional industries, also highlighting how engineering contributes to positive change across a range of sectors.
During the event, students will have the opportunity to interact with professionals through panel discussions and ‘Day in the Life’ films that provide real-world insights into careers in engineering and technology. The resources available during Tomorrow’s Engineers Week aim to demystify STEM careers, showing that these fields are not just about hard hats and construction but are also centred around innovation and creativity.
