Serving as the Technology Partner for Esports @Bett, Acer engaged with over 30,000 delegates from around the world, fostering connections and sparking ideas for the future of education. At the event’s Esport arena | boot NJ70, Acer provided a live demonstration of its innovative solutions designed for schools, offering fully functional 3D and gaming settings.
Esports in Education: A Data-Driven Success
Acer highlighted the significant rise of Esports in education, with a remarkable 75% increase in viewership since 20201, accumulating a record 2.76 billion hours watched in 2023. This surge demonstrates Esports’ potential to revolutionize educational approaches, engaging students and cultivating skills in collaboration, creativity, and STEAM disciplines.
During a keynote speech on January 25th, titled “Level up your academic studies with Esports,” Acer, Intel, and Barnsley College shared insights into integrating Esports into academic curricula. The session focused on creating new educational and career paths, cultivating entrepreneurial skills, and promoting inclusivity and the role of women in the sector.
The Role of 3D and AI in Education
Acer delved into immersive learning within the dedicated SpatialLabs area, showcasing the SpatialLabs Experience Center Pro. This platform transforms educational approaches within Esports, allowing users to visualise and interact with complex 3D models, fostering advanced engagement and understanding.
At CES in Las Vegas earlier this month, Acer unveiled additions to its SpatialLabs stereoscopic 3D lineup: the Aspire 3D 15 SpatialLabs Edition laptop and the Predator SpatialLabs View 27 gaming monitor. These innovations bring AI-powered applications for glasses-free 3D viewing and content creation to enhance the learning experience.
